    El Schalke 04 respondió a su cojndición de favorito y goleó a domicilio (1-4) al SV Sandhausen, de la segunda Bundesliga, con lo que logró el pase a los cuartos de final de la Copa de Alemania.

    El Sportfreunde Lotte, equipo de la tercera categoría, dio la sorpresa y también se clasificó a cuartos de final al derrotar por 2-0, con goles de Freiberger y Lindner, al 1860 Múnich, de la segunda Bundesliga..
